Yellowstone Radio Club Repeaters
K7EFA
BILLINGS, MONTANA
There are several repeaters around the Yellowstone Valley.
The wide area repeater and main contact repeater is the 147.36 which is located on Red
Lodge mountain. It is a repeater located with other repeaters for the Highway Patrol,
the Sheriff of Carbon County, and other county repeaters. The fact that all these repeaters
all work together is a testament to the technicians that do the upkeep for them.
At present time, the 147.36 repeater is operating in a temporary situation. Spring of
2008 a huge wind playing around with the trees actually blew a tree over. It had the bad
s luck to fall upon a guy wire for the tower, this caused the tower fall which resulted in
the repeater being shut down for a spell. N7VR, K7NJC, WN7Y, KE7GGN all went
\ to the site to review the damage. The result is they raised a temporary antenna, realigned
that which was out of alignment. The Generator was off line also as the storm damaged
